So, what do all those letters mean? Well, they often mean lots of work! LOL! Letters at the front (prefix) of a dog's name denote championships - meaning a dog usually had to have competition with other dogs in order to attain those titles. Typically, the letters on the back (suffix) of a dog's name denote titles achieved by testing them against a written set of rules - performance, if you will. I will focus on those AKC titles that can be earned by Dachshunds, though there are more titles for Herding, Coursing and other events in which Dachshunds don't officially participate.
